Meet Terry Scruggs, Interim Vice President of Tourism
Last week, the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce announced Terry Scruggs as interim vice president of tourism. The chamber is prepared to conduct a national search for a permanent vice president but is first awaiting a recommendation from the TDC and the county on what role the chamber will play in tourism.
Terry, a 48-year Pensacola resident, has a track record of successful marketing and management. He has served as former CEO and vice president of marketing and sales for Instrument Control Service, Inc., where he was a member of the team for 20 years. Additionally, he worked with Monsanto Company, holding positions in marketing, operations management and business planning. Terry graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor's in chemical engineering and Florida State University with a master's in business management.

Save the Date
The October Hospitality Round Table will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Angus. Jim Jager with New South Research in Birmingham will address the group on travel and tourism trends.

Upcoming Meetings and Tradeshows
Lori will be exhibiting at the National Women's Show in Ottawa, Canada Sept. 22-Sept. 25. The tradeshow has a large focus on travel, and this is a great opportunity for Lori to promote the Pensacola Bay Area to Canadian women, especially as they plan for snowbird season.
Mike and Laura will be attending the Governor's Conference on Tourism in Hollywood, Fla., Sept. 25-27. They will be attending workshops and seminars on tourism marketing and travel trends as well as attending an awards banquet. (Visit Pensacola is up for three awards this year!)
Leslie will be attending Smart Meetings, an appointment-based show in Orlando Sept. 25–27, where she'll meet with 25 corporate meeting planners from across the country. This is the first time the show has been on the East Coast. Please call or e-mail Leslie for additional information.
